VINTAGE The Hallicrafters Co Tube Radio Receiver Model S-38 In Working Condition

Up for sale I have a Hallicrafts Co. tube radio receiver model S-38. First of all I know absoluately nothing about this radio receiver. It was my Grandfather''s, so I know it is an old one. Here is what I do know; I plugged in it, put it on speaker & out came a lot of static & noise, & I saw the tubes in the back light up. I tried moving & turning all the knobs & switches, & it all works, but the 3 slide buttons are really tight & I certainly didn''t want to force them, but 2 of them I was able to move them carefully, so I am thinking that maybe they just need to be lubication, which I chose not to do, because I don''t know what I am doing.
