c1940s Winter Landscape Scene with by listed artist Monte Deckwar

Overview: Up for sale is this really tremendous barren winter landscape scene. It somewhat humorously appears to depict a lone outhouse in a snowy field behind a wooden fence. I love the surrealist tones of this piece and I think it would make a really cool piece to hang outside one''s bathroom. This piece was painted by Monte Deckwar (signed "Monte D." at lower left). I''ve seen a number of pieces available by Deckwar and have read that he is listed, but haven''t seen much biographical information or auction records. Painting is on canvas-wrapped board. I estimate it dates to the 1940''s, but could be 1950''s. I have a few pieces by this artist that I will be posting, so please check my other listings.

Condition: Painting is in good overall condition. Minor staining and edge wear.

Measurements: Painting measures 24 inches high x 18 inches wide.
